The Bagua mirror should be placed on the wall on top of a front door. Its biggest use is to block the negative energy from coming into your home. This should be used for diffusing energy that you find difficult and not necessarily as a decorative piece.

A general guideline is that they should never be hung inside a home or business and only be used on the outside. Moreover, there are different types of Bagua mirrors and it is important that you chose the right one that will suit your needs.

What Is a Feng Shui Bagua Mirror?

A standard Bagua mirror is usually octagonally shaped with a wooden back. Further eight trigrams surround the round mirror in the center. Toward the outer edge is the magic square diagram with one symbol on each of the octagonal areas.

There are three types of Bagua mirrors.

Convex Bagua Mirror In a convex Bagua mirror, the round mirror part at the center of the octagon is rounded outward. Choose this type of mirror if you wish to reflect negative energy back to its source.

Concave Bagua Mirror The Concave Bagua mirror, the round mirror part at the center of the octagon is rounded inward. Choose this type of mirror if you wish to absorb and neutralize negative energy.

Flat Bagua Mirrors A Flat Bagua mirror has a flat round surface in the center of the bagua octagon. If you are unsure which type of mirror to use, it is better to go for the flat mirror, which is more neutralin it's reflective energy.

Types of Bagua Mirrors

Bagua mirrors come in two different types: early heaven Bagua and later heaven Bagua. The difference is the sequence of trigrams around the outside of the octagon.

Early Heaven Bauga Mirror

The early heaven Bagua has the trigram heaven at its center top, which is three solid lines stacked one on top of the other. The early heaven Bagua symbolizes balance of yin and yang.

Later Heaven Bagua Mirror

The later heaven Bagua mirror has the trigram fire at top center, which is two solid lines surrounding a dashed line. This Bagua represents cycles of energy, such as birth, life and death.

Bagua Mirror Frame Colors and Materials Selecting your Bagua mirror based on colors or materials on the frame is also just as important when neutralising energy. Select the color and material of your Bagua mirror frame based on the direction the door or the window you will hang it above faces using the Bagua map to determine which sector rules the placement.

Hanging Bagua Mirrors Always hang the early heaven Nagua mirror with the heaven trigram at the top, which is the one with the three solid lines, and the earth trigram on the bottom.

When hanging the later heaven Bagua mirror make sure the the fire trigram is on the top and the water trigram on the bottom.
