Schools of Feng Shui
How did Feng Shui come to you? Most likely on your journey to a more tranquil lifestyle, Feng Shui was presented to you as something that you were already doing but you didn't have a name for it. Then only naturally a friend told you more about it or even a YouTube video recommendation that confirmed this mysterious realm to be true.
And just like that you started to divulge into this new adventure but when did you start feeling bombarded with countless definitions on what exactly Feng Shui is?
"Feng Shui has developed into various different forms"
Books, guru's, self help mediums all giving their take on Feng Shui sometimes seem to contradict each other. Over the years, Feng Shui has developed into various different forms, which has resulted in a variety of schools. And even when the underlying core of Feng Shui concepts remain similar, the art of Feng Shui has become dynamic, so don't be shy to the offers made by different suggestions. However due diligence is a ship worth sailing.
It doesn’t necessarily mean that anyone is wrong, just experiencing Feng Shui at a different level, culture and tolerance . There is usually more than one way to achieve a desired result.
For example, if I were to rearrange some rooms for a property before it was opened for public viewing and the rooms were small, perhaps with small tight corridors, I might recommend something like the following:
"Some may not agree and feel uncomfortable"
Give each room the feel of openness by having lightly colored translucent curtains, allowing natural light to penetrate. Create space by avoiding furniture or decors in the corners.
Some may not agree and feel uncomfortable with curtains that are almost see through and empty corners in a room where one would like to put plants or pet beds. Therefore, It may be a good idea for you to get Feng Shui quotes from two or more feng shui experts. If there are multiple opinions, it probably means you are going to be able to achieve the desired result.
Origins of Feng Shui
Feng Shui originated in ancient China and all the classical schools of thought and methods were developed there. The observation and analysis of landforms, waterways and structural placement have been translated into the human sphere and energy fields. This is what is now known as the formulae for calculating things such as the distribution and quality of qi, elemental balance, auspicious and inauspicious directions and locations which determine the measures to be taken in order to manifest the desired outcome.
